Tableau provides a simple method to explore, inventory and assess basic usage of your published connections. The count of Tableau connections and utilized connections is readily available out of the box in Tableau server and Tableau Cloud.

Access your Published Connections and Counts
- Navigate directly to the link below, or in Tableau, click “Explore”
https://<<TABLEAU_URL>>/#/site/<<SITENAME>>/datasources?order=hitsLastThreeMonthsTotal

- Click “All Data Source” in the explore dropdown (located at top header)

- Select a timeframe that meets your constraints.
- Sort or filter your connections by location (project) to further refine and prioritize as you count.
Each record is a unique connection. You can also see for reference how many workbooks are connected.
Filter Projects / Locations
To filter the connections for your specific projects / locations you can utilize the “Location” filter to constrain your connections to specific project.
